Custom sized fireplace grate

Hi, My parents recently changed their fireplace and the newer fireplace insert comes forward more than the previous one. The result is that when the current grate is pushed back far enough for the fire to be against the back boiler, there is a 3 - 4 inch gap between it and the front of the fireplace where coal etc. falls…

Hi,

Is there somewhere they could get a custom grate made?

Am guessing you're in Dublin? Try these guys www.pdd.ie They are based down towards Heuston Station. We have gotten 2 fireplaces fitted by them and found them great. David there is very helpful and am sure he can either help you out himself or point you in the right direction
