    HCPC = Home Cinema PC
    HTPC = Home Theatre PC

    Both are acceptable and I think Home Cinema is a more broadly used term in Ireland.

    hmm, have never called it a hcpc.
    charters and all references are to htpc , the htpc forum etc.

    I've never heard the term "Home Cinema Personal Computer". "Home Cinema", yes, but in the context of a PC, I've always heard/seen it referred to as HTPC.

    I have to say I echo the sentiments of the users of the forum. I had never heard of a HCPC until the name of the board was changed. When I was in Ireland part of my work was in this area and again, I never heard of a HCPC. Even the most recent posts from users have detailed HTPC despites the forums new total.

    Although home cinema is referred to more than home theatre, I dont think its true in the context of PC's

    Is it possible we can change it Vexorg? Im going to put up a post and see if anyone has bright ideas for a new name. It covers a lot, including network audio it would be nice to have a sort name that covers it.

    I think HTPC sounded better. It's a more recognized abbreviation.

    I always called them HTPCs anyway. :)
