Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The first alpha release of Ulteo is now available on a server near you.

Ulteo is a new distro from Gaël Duval -- the creater of Mandrake [now Mandriva] Linux. Just to think he was using Windows 3.1 in 1995!

Screenshots looks pretty. At the moment, it runs as a live CD which has an application to install to HDD, like many distros doing the rounds at the moment. Read the release notes if planning to commit to disk.

Far from even RC stage yet but, if it incorporates the polish and stability of Mandriva, it can't be a bad thing.

A distro with a difference [like all the others] ...
Ulteo has been seen running within web browsers. The idea is to enable users to connect to their own desktops from anywhere in the world, even if running Windows [Java needed]. All system updates would be handled at the other end where the distro is to be hosted.

Undoubtedly, it's one to keep an eye on.
