    How's it

I'm djing at a big house party in Galway this new years and alot of the crowd are your standard indie rock heads, not my typical scene but i still like it alot. I've a list below of some things i'll be playing that they'll be diggin but can anyone else add some more? I'm looking for quality upbeat indie rock and slightly funky or cheesy obscurish music by artists such as...

    bell x1
    css
    futureheads
    grandaddy
    hot chip
    klaxons
me first and the gimme gimmes
    mr scruff
    nerina pallot
    tapes n tapes
    snow patrol
    arcade fire
    the shins
    vega4
    von bondies
    the gossip
    the infadels
    erol alkan
    spinto band
    postal service
    the kooks
    peter bjorn & john
    XTC
    style council
    cut copy
    flaming lips
    sons & daughters
    the knife
    yeah yeah yeahs
    the sounds
    spank rock

feel free to add some of your favourite tunes or bands to check out that nobody really knows, thats really what i'm looking for a I guess and then i'll track em down in the shops myself.

    cheers :)

Wow, that's mainly some fairly characterless recent stuff there. I think you need to liven it up a lot, try not to stick so rigidly to stuff from the last 10 years. Maybe try play some:

    Nick Cave
    Smashing Pumpkins
    Porcupine Tree
    Bjork
    Nine Inch Nails
    The Cure
    David Bowie
    Garbage
    Joy Division
    Muse
    The Smiths

    Hope that helps. ;)

meh.. thats your opinion but thanks for the reply. That characterless stuff can be pretty good though when drunk as a skunk in the back a' beyonds! :) I'll be palying alot of those bands you added too, didn't put em in coz they were kinda obvious i thought.

    More stuff would be...

    elliot smith
    badly drawn boy
    mouse on mars
    cornelius
    adf
    pixies
    etc....

Ah fair enough so. I got the idea that you were kinda ignoring some classics seeing as most of the stuff you mentioned was very recent.

Probably fairly obvious aswell, but maybe some classic rock like Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Rush, AC/DC would probably go down great.

Oh, and an absolute must is Journey! I think that'll raise some serious cheer because of the Family Guy reference too. Should go down a storm. ;)
