Yes.

So long as they used said tights and capes to fight evil wherever it may lurk, and came out with bad puns, and used big action captions like Thoookkk! and Kapow! to cover up that even during the fighting they don't actually make contact with anyone.

Nah, I never minded. My folks always made the effort to distinguish between the two, Christmas presents in the morning, birthday presents in the evening. As for anyone else, I never minded, as I know folks generally get things tight at Christmas. If they remember to say "Happy Birthday!" thats good enough for me.
