    Hi guys,
Anybody know of a good company that installs body-kits onto cars, specifically in the Dublin area.
I am not into boy-racer type stuff, but do want to improve the looks of my car, an Alfa 156.
On a side note, can anyone recommend a good garage for servicing where I wont get ripped off
    Thx.

Don't know any place that sells body kits but Ti Autos is a very well recommended Alfa specialist in Dublin and also recommended on this forum. Those guys might know who supplies body kits for Alfas too. Don't have a number for them though.

Whatever you do don't bring the car to an Alfa dealer.

You're not going to improve a 156 - which whatever it's other faults is a true beauty - by adding a bodykit.

Maybe a bigger set of wheels & a rear spoiler. I'd leave it at that though. Just an opinion...

Something like this is not too bad:

Just the front bumper lip and side skirts are subtle enough. The white alloys would be too much bling for my taste. The 17" "telephone dialer" type alloys from the GTA would also look nice with slightly lowered springs.

This body kit would be overkill imo:

Ha ha. The second one is exactly what I would love on my car "bazz26". I would prefer not to have the spoiler tho. They look tacky on a sports saloon, and perform absolutely no function on a car like this other than increasing drag and using up .0000001ltr of fuel every mile ;)

I have found an english website that sells kits:
    http://www.body-kit.co.uk/acatalog/alfa_romeo_156_body_kits.html
But what I need is a body-shop that would put 'em on and paint 'em, etc.

Car only cost me €3K second-hand, so I dont really want to buy new wheels and tyres. The wheels and tires I have look decent enough. Might consider lower springs tho.
    Thx.

Nice but they look pretty similar to the Sportivo (?) models which have that kit as standard I think.

    Hey Kramer,

have you seen www.alfa156.net ? Lots of stuff there to keep you reading for awhile!

When you get yours done could you post details of where you got the work done ? I'm in the process of updating mine, but a new suspension and alloys are next on list before i do some slight body styling.

oh yeah ... when it comes to modification, remember, Less is More! :)

Have to QTF you on that one although it seems the OP already knows this. In the US all out cusomization is the way to go, here on the other han were more conservative.

Personally I think if you cosmetically mod your car too much it does look tacky.

It's what all the cool kids do!

Yeah. I'm definitely a subscriber to the less is more philosophy to car body-kits. Unless the car has like 5000BHP, I think those crazy kits are ridicolous. Like the one foot tall spoilers on a 1.4ltr Corolla.
I just want to lower the bodywork an inch or two. I dont like how the front and rear bumpers taper up on standard versions of the 156, like mine.

Lose the spoiler in Bazz26's second example & I think that car is sweeeet;)
