Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Project Managment Company looking to for me to Pay

    Hi Guys

I was looking a site down the country, contacted a Project Management company who meet me and briefly went over what they could provide. I said I wanted to meet them with my G/F. They went over more or less what they did with me. Guy in the office did up a few diagrams in Word on the type of house they could build, no Price on the house build. Site fell through and now they are look for me to pay them for work done.

They advertise a "Free Consultation". In my book they where pitching for a Job and I didn't move any further. I work in Sales myself and spend a lot of time with people that don't move with the Job.

What can they do, if it come down to it, bring me to court ??

    Thanks in advance

You missed out the bit saying "hypothetically, if ..." and forgot to say that you're discussing a general issue, not looking for legal advice.

Taking that as read, and from a position of expertise acquired watching Judge Judy, your financial obligations to anyone who provided a service would depend on what written or verbal contract existed (or could reasonably be advanced in front of a judge). If you hadn't signed anything then it comes down to recollections of conversations, and the witnesses to those conversations. If there is a printed (or you could print a web page) advertisement then that would help - so long as the degree of "consultation" was reasonably part of a "free" offer and had not passed into provision of a service.

Thread locked. I wouldn't have locked it if you weren't so brazen about flouting the rules, Someday.
