Any of you good folks know where I can get blinds? Looking to source them locally if possible and ideally need them in before christmas.

    Thnks.

Breretons can order them in for you, or you could go to Hickey's in the Park, Carrickmines (J15, M50), but be super-careful getting the measurements right!

I doubt you'd get them in time for christmas as there's normally a lead time.

I'm making this a thread on it's own as someone should be able to help, and if the rest of the Charleslanders are like me, they only look in the Handy Numbers thread when looking for info themselves!

We used Fashion Blinds (01 8680333). They're not local, but had no problems coming out with samples and giving us a quote. I think there is a lead time of a week or two while the blinds are being made, so you may be pushing it to get them in before Christmas.

I went to B & Q and got black-out roller blinds...you can have it cut in the shop for you so you need to be sure of your measurements!

You can also cut them at home by yourself, which I did on one of them as I wasn't totally sure of the dimensions for one of the windows. I think it came with instructions (what doesn't these days?!). You might need to be a little bit handy though.

Cost wise, I can't remember exactly as it was so long ago but I do remember they did cost a bit more than I expected!

The hardware Store - Gemma Home Solutions? does blinds. It's beside Morans Fish Shop i.e. accross from Declans Barber and that wonderful specialist food shop Dolca Vita! Nice people to deal with. Also there is a place in beside the cinema.

I'll have to get some myself, especially now that I'll have those big towering houses behind me! :(:)

we got our in breretons it took numerous attempts to get the wooden blinds right and had nothing to do with us!!! they came and measured (apparently all the windows are different sizes in Charlesland!! and they forgot to order the kitchen window and it took another 3/4 attempts the wrong colour and sizes were ordered.

However we have had no problems with them and they look great!

They do charge extra to fit them but if your any good with DIY Im sure you could fit them yourselves we did!

We used crumlin blinds (in the phone book) much better price then the local offering ;) & free fitting too, very quick to install, once we ordered them.

Bray Blinds are great and have done loads of houses in Charlesland. Great service, have nothing bad to say about them!
