Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey,

I'm looking to set up a wireless network consisting of 3 machines, for file + printer sharing, that's it, no broadband.

Apart from a wireless network card in each, so I need some kind of hub/router, and if so any recommendations?

    Cheers

(Possibly [I say possibly as I cannot remember doing it]) nothing more - you can creat an ad-hoc network.
What OS is on each machine?

Alternatively, and better: You need an access point - this is better from a performance and security P.O.V.
No recommendation - just check that it's labelled with the WIFI stamp, and allows for WPA - and is 802.11g (Assuming all clients are g as well)

Thanks for that, I think I'll get the access point, they're cheap enough

Aye. They are. And it'll save a lot of hassle down the road. 'tis an investment.
Again, for recommendations: mneh. As long as it's WIFI certified, it should be OK. Best to stick to the same manufacturer if possible. 802.11g : because of file-transfers, and n isn't worth the expense yet. I also made the assumption that the machines would located near enough to each other, right?

Well, they'll all be on the ground floor in the same house, which is an office. They will however all be in separate rooms. I'm assuming this will be fine.
