Coming at you loud and clear, it's time for the one and only Green Velvet to make his second Electric Shock appearance. Back to Dublin after an eye-catching performance in August '06 at ES4, we have Green Velvet ready to jack the Electric Shock house again at the Temple Bar Music Centre on January 26th.

Do not miss this exclusive appearance from the Preacher Man. Green Velvet is a true star personality on the house music scene and it really is a pleasure for us to have him to return to play at one of our EX parties. He was raving about the reception and vibes at the sold-out ES4 and wanted to return asap and we were more than happy to oblige.

Not only did he want to return as Green Velvet, his alter ego was so disappointed at not bugging out the Dublin crowds that Cajmere wanted to come over this time too. So, for an intimate house party on January 25th in Wax, we will have what (we think!) is the first DJ set from Cajmere in Dublin. Tickets for this one will be highly limited and it will be a night of dope deep Chicago house tracks from one of the pioneers. Under his Cajmere name, Curtis Jones has been behind some of the deepest vocal Chicago jams like Brighter Days, Day by Day, Only 4 U, Percolator and I Need U with most of these cropping up on his peerless Cajual label.

Green Velvet aka Cajmere is one of the true Chicago pioneers who has jacked many the house with a devastating series of tracks though the years such as Preacher Man, Flash, La La Land, Answering Machine, the Stalker and plenty more. His gritty rough Chicago sounds are infectious, undeniably fun records with simple vocal taglines and a wicked sense of humour. In these times of wack Chicago rip-offs, bootlegs and remakes, this will be a chance to see a bona fide master of the sound rock the Electric Shock.

Earlier this year, Green Velvet even remixed the one and only Madonna with his version of her track 'Sorry' becoming a big underground Chicago hit while his most recent 'Shake & Pop' EP featured a wicked track called no less than 'Electricity' - this blatant 'come and get me' plea was passed on to Peter Kenyon, he put the wheels in motion and now we're over the moon to have GV come and play for us here at Electric City FC. We're sure all our supporters will back his appearance in the EC shirt.

The pioneering sound of GV's Relief Records kicked life back into the Chicago scene back in '94 and since then it has been quality not quantity that has set this label apart giving us releases from the likes of DJ Rush, Paul Johnson, Gemini, Joe Lewis, Snapmode, Boo Williams, DJ Sneak, LA Williams, Brian Harden and more.

Opening up proceedings will be Rian Ryan, the hard-rocking Maynooth man to whip up some Chi-town tunes to funk you up on the night. The EC resident is one of the most dynamic DJs around and his big box of tricks will be setting things up to fever pitch.

Hi,

Here you will find the set times for Green Velvet. Thanks for the monster, monster response to our competition, the lucky winners have now been informed. Tickets for Green Velvet are about 50% sold out and are still available from www.tickets.ie and City Discs in Temple of the Bar. Will probably be some left on the door - we'll keep you posted on Friday.
