Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    My computer keeps downloading a specific windows update, installing it, completing it, then immediately coming up with the exact same update and trying to install it, time and time again.

    The update is 927978 and I've tried restarting and turning off the pc but to no avail. Any solutions?

    Well the easy fix is to tag it for Windows Update to not install that update.

    When the yellow shield pops up choose custom then untick the selected update and proceed Windows will then warn you that you have chosen to not install it and go to WU web site if you want to remove the do not install tag. The auto download or by doing it via the WU website will now no longer install that patch.

    Alternatively manually download the patch install it & see what happens.

    This worked for me:

    download the manual installer (msxml4-KB927978-enu.exe) of this update at:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=24B7D141-6CDF-4FC4-A91B-6F18FE6921D4&displaylang=en

    (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927978 -> IT Professionals -> Download the update (KB927978))

    1) Uninstall the current update using this installer: choose 'Remove'.
    2) Reboot as you are told
    3) Re-install the update with the same installer: 'typical' install does the job

    Done

    In your control panel -> Add / remove programs, you will find your manually installed security update. And the good thing is, Windows Update stops popping up annoying notifications about the KB927978 update.

    grtz, Wood
