boot problem????

    I just installed a new processor on an intel d915gav board, when i switch it on the board powers up, the fans are on but the operating system wont boot up and the monitor will not come on, any ideas?

    does the computer beep when it comes on?? Try reseating everything like gpu,ram etc.. a little more detail might be helpfull... type of processor for example

    Check the processor is compatible with the fsb of the motherboard. Then check it's properly mounted.

    Anything at all up on the screen? Also make sure the thermal paste is schtuck on the heatsink to the CPU (it won't prevent the computer from booting but is needed, just incase you might have forgotten). :)

    Also reset the cmos. This is a must for changing cpus. Just use the jumpers, or just take out the small 1€ sized battery and leave it out for a few mins. Then re-seat it and turn the pc on, Should work now.

    Nothing is coming up on the screen, its sayin No input as if the monitor isn't plugged in even though it is?

    Could be that the processer is not compatable with the MB!! Try starting from scratch and install everything again and see if it works!!
