Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just wondering.....

I'm planning to go on the pill, and was wondering do i have to go to my own doctor to get it? (and yes i am of legal age!! :D )

The reason i ask is, i'm in college and the only time i'm home is at the weekends... so not much choice bout the doc then, and also the only way i can get to the doc is if my parents drive me.... and uh, to be frank, don't want them knowing just yet!!!

Any advice welcome!!! thanks a mil:D

What college are you in? AFAIK most colleges have medical centres on campus where they could advise you on this.

Go to the college doctor if you have one.
Just answer any questions they ask you as honestly as possible.
You don't hvae to go to your family doctor at all.

Tip: Read the information book in the packet when you get it thoroughly before you start taking it.
The pill is very effective once it's taken correctly, make sure you know what "correctly" entails.
Best of luck with it all.

I'm in Mary I in Limerick, and yeah we have a college doc.
    Thanks a million for that!

College doc will also be less expensive and I don't know about the arrangements in Limerick but ask in the student health centre whether there's a particular pharmacy nearby that gives a discount on prescriptions for students. I know some do in other places.

There's an IFPA in Limerick also.

    Can the pill cause depression?

    Can the pill cause depression?

Not full-scale medically-diagnosed depression, if that's what you're talking about, but it does cause mood swings in some women. Different brands have different effects though, so if someone is experiencing dramatic mood swings then they should either switch brands or just change their method of contraception.

Sounds about right :( The poor girl isn't using it as contraceptive though; needs it for health reasons and has already tried other brands...
