meep, my poor tunnel just came out of my conch.

-not out 10 minutes+i cant get it back in.

its still healing after being punched a couple of weeks ago...pretty infected.

i can still fit a 3 mil nail through it....but i should just leave it alone+have it close up shouldnt i?

    tea tree oil?

    -it looks fairly bad.

Don't put the nail through it, chances are if its been punched it won't heal up completely due to the cartiledge being excised. I normally reccomend people leave the jewelery in for the first ten days til the inital part of the healing has been done then remove it for a month or so to let it heal fully then put whatever they want in it. Don't use tea tree oil its too harsh imo just stick with good old fashion salt water.

    *cough*

yeh, its been in about 3 weeks BUT.....its looking reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally infected...i'd just like to kinda take the swelling down a bit.

-methinks at this point i need to be aggressive with it.

-its been weeping pretty much since i got it, but now the tunnels out...i can see how bad it is+its scaring me..

-i did clean it up with the salt water. anything more i can do?

if it's looking really infected and you want to take the swelling down and it's scarring you, why would you want to go and be aggressive with it?!

just keep doing soaks, imo. and if it's worrying you that much, go see your piercer and ask them for their advice.

more that i've just seen how giant the bubble is+i can feel it (before it was hidden behind the o-ring)

if it was only a small one i'd stick to the soaks but its so big.... i really want to do something with it now.

i wouldn't go poking at it with a nail though :/

    go see your piercer..
and if you can get some zinc cream from somewhere like boots and rub it into it about twice a day aswell as soaks.

Yeah... cartilage infections are not to be taken lightly. Your piercer should tell you if you'll need to go get some antibiotics to help.

hmm..yeh i got the nail idea before i saw it in proper light...i've never seen a bacteria bubble this big/bad.
it looks....like a tumour, except its weeping heavily, (clear fluid) you'd think at some point it'd get smaller.

    -thanks for the advice

bah, maybe i'll learn a lesson about cleaning piercings.

i'll try just keepin it clean+takin care of it properly for a couple days......the shock of seein it though.

EVEN EAR PIERCINGS NEED PROPER MAINTENANCE, REMEMBER THAT EVERYONE!

And conch piercings need even more care. Try use a heavy salt soaking keeping it completely immersed for a few mins to try draw out and gunk in it. Go to your piercer tomorrow and see what he says if it gets worse go to a doctor immediately.

    slight update.

-its backed down a bit since last night, still about as big as my fingernail, but not weeping half as much and nowhere near as bulbous.

that said, its completely closed up (just filled with crusty pus i know)

i know if i keep it clean+all eventually it'll be fine, but in the space of about 15 minutes my 5mil hole completely disappeared.

the human body is an amazing...yet disgusting thing.

    lesson learned...

did you go to your piercer and or doctor?

no.... only happened last night, hence the sudden alarm.
i'm in work today so doctor/piercer ot really an option.

-i'm gonna keep clean it properly for the next few days and hope for the best.
its crusty at the moment, which i must say, makes me a bit more comfortable, because last night it was this large oozing pus-filled...etc.

still looks horrible, but not as bad, not weeping for the minute, but that may be because its so stuffy in here.

-also when it was weeping it was horrible, because its the front bit where the infection was and it was dripping through the hole in my ear.

i think it'll be alright eventually if i just keep it clean....right?

-its not an open wound at the moment, there is a scab on it.
also there's not been any blood.

DAMN my other conch for healing so quickly....into the false sense of security i went, what a fool i was.

i'm guessing at best i'll be left with some heavy scar tissue....oi.
