Sending RTF docs with Mailto tag in HTML

    I am putting an Mailto tag in one of my files.

    Typically the tag is something like "mailto:username@domain.com?subject=This is the subject&body=This is the body"

    The body in question is quite long and I also want to include links. I was wondering is there a way to get it to take the body from a text file or something stored on the same server - and also possibly send it in RTF format.

    I recall doing something like this a few years ago but can't remember how. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Can you use server side coding - much more control. Your link will not be usable to anyone who uses webamail rather than a local pop a/c.
