(thought this subject was broad enough for here) oh I thought the word bollocsk got *** out?

Did anyone read the article on Archbishop Sean Brady the other day, what a load of arrogant, elitist rubbish.

    http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/frontpage/2006/1218/1166138065978.html

Apparenty there is a "growing coarness and agressiveness" in Irish society has been attributed to increased secularisation and the marginalisation of religion."

apparently the desire "to look out for one another" is unique to Christians and anyone who isn't christian is incampable having values and of caring for others.

    also
"their has been a rapid decline in both vacations to the priesthood and attendance and weekly mass but he felt using a yardstick of mass in complete way to asess the life of the church as there had been for instance no decline in the number of catholic schools.

Thats because people don't have choice and you have been actively blocking non-religious schools, like he doens't know this? Pompous.

It's not right for the state to seek to monopolise education"
is that cos it will demish the catholic church current monopoly?

"and did not accept that the segregation of children attending school along religious line as contributing to sectarism", really wow the guy is so idealogically fixed that he willing to lie to himself to keep the children of northern ireland seperate.

he mentioned podge and rodge as an example as I guess because there is nothing sacred on the show.

Meanwhile, RTE has declined to comment on remarks by the Catholic Primate of All Ireland, Archbishop Sean Brady, that there is a "growing coarseness and aggression" in Irish society. "Do we want to have a culture of Podge and Rodge, or one of decency and respect?" he inquired.

The increased "coarseness and aggression" in Irish society which he was referring to was evident "on the roads, in drinking, the increase in sexualisation of children at an earlier age, stress, excess generally. It is dehumanising," the Archbishop added.

However, a spokeswoman for the popular late-night RTE2 show said there would be no comment made regarding the bishop's remarks.

"The new permanent deconate also meant that within four years, men would be available ind dioceses to perform most of the function fo priests"

    Thank god for MEN

He noted that that at a meeting with the DUP in Stormont it had been remarked to him that the Catholic church had been wise to hold on to its schools in the north when other churches hadn't? The Catholic church intended doing so he said despite draft proposals for new structures hich would give proposed educatio and skills authority exclusive powers without requiremnets to take account of catholic interests.

And this from a man who sacked a priest in Armagh who was trying to whislteblow .
