VAT Back on XMAS Pressies?

I know it slightly kills the spirit of xmas, but just say i was to get a gift of sumthin I would have been buying for my business myself anyway, if I get the receipt off the buyer, can I claim the vat back on it?:D ;) :cool: :o Another thing, if you use a non-bill phone for business, can u claim vat back with top up…
