My NTL broadband hasn't been working since Thursday. The modem sync light just flashes.

Managed to get through to customer service yesterday and I'm to expect a call from a broadband specialist within 24 hours (i.e. by 2:30 today). If it's not dealt with soon I'll have no home bb until next Thursday at the earliest due to Christmas hols :o

Anyone else in Ballyfermot/Chapelizod having trouble?

(I'm having to pay €15 for BT Openzone plus the cost of Insomnia coffee to post this:p )

Bugger. I've just moved around the corner and picked up an unsecured WiFi signal. €15 wasted :o;)

No call from NTL - so I guess I'm offline until after Christmas. I'm not a bit happy

its completely down here now for 24 hours.
    I'm in Dublin 1 - city centre...
No lights at all on modem apart from orange power light.

Their tech support sucks - they NEVER call back.
They've let me down so many times I barely bother with their support anymore!

Its the worst service I've ever encountered on any product ever :(

    Got my call back yesterday.

12th of January. 12th of ****ing January is the earliest they can send someone out to fix my connection. That's 3 weeks from when I reported the problem.

Totally unacceptable. I know Christmas got in the way but 3 weeks is piss poor.

Might be worth a call to Comreg or a threat to take them to the small claims court?

    Well, whaddya know?

I've just swiitched on the PC at home to do some offline work and believe it or not, my broadband is back! If I'd checked this morning I might have saved myself the cost of a days BTOpenzone!

I still think I'll sign up for a 3G service and maybe downgrade NTL to the 2meg service. I've learned in the last week just how much I need a bb connection.
