Would be paying about €450 - €500?

I'd be a bit wary of the pentium 4 mobile, it's an older generation processor, the pentium m or celeron m is a generation ahead and even though running at a slower clock speed will give the same sort of performance but is more suited for laptops (better battery life mainly).

New laptops seem to be starting at around 500 euro, for 600euro you can get a decent enough machine. If the machine youre looking at is new is probably worth about the 450-500 but with a p4-m it sounds like an oldish model

Jesus looked a hell of a deal to me then again I know feck all about computers.

Could anyone give me some advice then on a laptop was looking at this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330065117315&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=014 but reckon it would go out of my budget.

Just looking for a good decent laptop thats fast with DVD-RW/CD-RW maybe 100g HD dont know about about grapics cards or much like that. Wouldn't mind though been able to play something like battlefield or that.

Would have about 700 - 850?

Heard there was a big sale in pc world tomorrow so might head there.

might want to look for somebody with slightly higher rating when buying a laptop on ebay and a warrenty with a laptop can really be worth getting

the deal you listed was a decent price for the spec, it's just amazon list the laptop from summer 2004, so it's a pretty old model, and laptops change quite alot every year


for 700-850 you should be looking at getting a dual core intel, or maybe the amd x2 tl50, 1gb of ram, dvd writer, for gaming the best graphics card you can find, might take alot of looking

don't know much about the xps, but for gaming it's probably the type of laptop to be looking at
