Phoned the home delivery service earlier, apparently stores in the S43 (yorkshire/derbyshire) area will have new stock updated on the net and on the phone either thursday night or friday morning... i'll be clicking my refresh button non stop whie phoning them then! If anyone can get an order secured for either chesterfield or sheffield i'll be most appreciative!

Heads up on the net for those days though :D

This is an Irish forum (hence the .ie) so you won't find many people ordering Wiis in the UK.

    I'm really confused about it.

I had a thread up in Games how I was thinking of pulling out of gaming alltogether because it was proving too costly, but a Wii isnt that expensive, but apart from the old gamecube games and Zelda (and Sports) there isnt much appealing to me at this very moment. The money in theory could go to better things. But what those better things are I dont know. So I think I'll pick up the Wii...If it proves a waste of space for me, I can always sell it on adverts.

Hey guys - thought I'd skip all the pre-xmas madness and snap up a Wii in the new year - how wrong was I!?

I'm in Wexford - trying all places though, then I found this forum.

I can pretty much travel anywhere within the kinda Cork, Limerick, Wateford, Dub distance from Wexford - but, like you all, I still can't find one.

My wife is desperate to play one, but has never showed interest in gaming before (I'm a PC gaming man at heart (www.irishbf2.net)) and I'd quite like one myself - gaming with the wife sir? Well I never!

Anyway - any codes down SE, midlands etc, would be most appreciated if you have an don't need.

    Thanks,
    Inch.

well - about 10 mins after posting the above, I got a reservation code for a single console in Longford, valid until close Thursday 11th.

Its a long trek for me to Longford from Wexford - but could do it in the car in one day.

If anyone has a code for closer to wexford and is willing to swap, let me know.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8 =IBF2=Inchmurri

wow - just got another code, but its further away, in Castlebar.

If anyone wants it, PM me - reservation is for tomorrow only.

Am still trying argos.ie to get one in Dublin. Presumably like most of the rest of you.

Doesn't it annoy you when computer systems force you to perform mindlessly repetitive tasks?!

"Dublin Ilac Centre" - continue - out of stock - "Dublin Jervis Street" - continue - out of stock etc etc

If I knew https and cookie management better I'd have a good mind to hook me up a perlscript... :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

go the other direction at around 6.

as far as I can tell, they update the computers for the next day when the stores close and everyone who's checking online starts at the top with jervis street and ilac centre and work down. hence they will be the first to go.

go up from nutgrove (which is what I did today.) I worked up from the botton, st. stephens was my second choice and it popped up (normally i go jervis etc downwards.)

check it around 7 in the morning too, thats when new stock i added

I got mine on ebay, came to me within 24 hours of payment!

You guys should chance your arm on irish wii's on ebay.

Offer them 270 or 280, see what they say, you'd be surprised what some sellers will accept for a quick sale! but the cheapest next day delivery by AnPost is 23euro for a wii package.

    Still... better than february!

thats what i did, wrote a php script that interfaces with the site and gets a stock update.

I'm sorry, but what is the point of you doing this? Why do you think you have the right to reserve all these consoles and then hand them out as you see fit?
It's no different than me buying them from the stores and setting up my own stall to sell to whom I want.
It might be some kind of little power trip for you but seriously, get off you're high horse and allow people (including joe public, and not just the people on boards) to reserve a console from Argos.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,906 ✭✭✭deckie27

Why are all you people reserving units when they have no attention of purchasing them.
Like as if someone is going to drive from Wexford to castlebar to get one (or better get the train to dublin then train to castlebar to argos back to train to Dublin then down to wexford. LOL that would nearly cost the price of the wii

both me and bro have gone on our travels to get wii so its not that big a deal and as for triona i think more people here would thank her/him ( i never actual asked sorry just assumed you were a girl) than condemn her. i would as would my bro, if people want it that bad they are willing to travel so i dont see the difference in triona getting in and reserving one and giving out the codes to others and she/he is not the only one doin it either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭triona1

Firstly don't be sorry,2ND,I don't hand them out as i see fit, simply people say what area there trying to get a wii in,then we all exchange any codes we have,we get nothing in return, only trying to pass a bit of time, now you get of your high horse.thanks snl

Ignore them and keep up the good work triona. Anything that keeps a Wii out of the hands of touts like kaizersoze, who are only tuning in to score a profit, is a good thing.

    Good man

Can people please stop going on about it.

i for one commend triona and everyone else who's been sharing resevations, i wouldn't have gotten mine if it wasn't for people like that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 232 ✭✭fullerand

I second the motion that what triona1 is doing is a great service, and certainly in the spirit of this forum, i.e. helping eachother out.

I'd third it if she could get me an Argos res code for anywhere in Dublin, my hand's getting Firefox-cramp from trying all week!! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭triona1

Dublin has become impossible,Lucky if i get one now.

Puh-leeze you WANT people to go on about it. You want to p1ss people off. All 22 of your pathetic posts are about you getting an extra Wii for eBay or concerning that.

Anyway, I finally scrounged enough money to get a Wii (with the help from my brother whos going halfs with me) so is there any Argus' in Dublin which have em?
