Spiced beef - how to cook it

We've got a piece of spiced beef in the house but no idea how to cook it. Do you boil it? Boil it, then bake it? And for how long?

This may be a bit late now but you need to place the beef in a pot of water (with a tight-fitting lid) & simmer very, very gently for 4 to 6 hours depending on the size of the joint.

When done, wrap in tin foil & allow to cool before you serve.
