does the technosonic 50hz specification prevent it displaying some HD xbox 360 games - something to do with 60hz?

No, it works with 60 hz games pertfectly. That rating of 50hz is to do with the power.

i have one of the cello models. its very clear in my opinion for sky movies and dvds, although i cant compare with better known models. I would assume blacks are a bit more black on those. its a bit fuzzy on the ps2, nothing major though. volume is very sensitive imo. 1 is too low and 3 is too high so its just always on level 2. id advise connecting to a surround sound system or a stereo for more controllable sound. that given, our living room is fairly small so might not be an issue with larger rooms. still havent managed to get it working with my sky remote either.

Is there anyway to take advantage of this knowledge. Do tesco allow prebookings? Or will the homeware manager even admit/know they are coming in.

For a 24 hour store like maynooth -where i lost out despite being there at 9 am day after stephens last time- what time will they be put on sale, 12am?
