Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How is your wireless network encrypted? If its WPA, your Orinoco card may not support it. As a test, I would disable encryption temporarily and see if your laptop can see/connect to the network.

Sounds like the laptop may be on a different subnet to the wireless router? The wireless will show connected with good signal, but no route exists to the internet?

Check your IP address, DNS server address, and default gateway settings for the wireless card in your laptop. Under TCP/IP Properties for the card you usually select 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS Server address automatically' so that your laptop gets this information from the DHCP server in the Eircom wireless router. Reboot.

I'm assuming you are not deliberately using static IP addressing?

    Hi,

Your post is a little unclear on a few things.

    Questions :
    1. At home, can your laptop connect to your wireless router?
    2. If yes, do you have an IP Address? (hint : Start-run-cmd : ipconfig)
    3. If yes, what is it? What is the IP address of a working device on the network?
    4. Ping the working device from your laptop. What is the result?
    5. Ping 194.125.133.10 from your laptop. What is the result?
    6. Ping google.ie from your laptop. What is the result?
    7. Post the output of ipconfig.

    Regards,

    Liam
