What to do with my old ps2...........

Okay,i got it for my birthday off my parents about 3 or 4 years ago,its the big heavy black one. about 7 months ago,it stopped working completely,it wouldnt play any games.i brought it to a repair shop ,they said the laser was faulty and the cost to repair it would be deaer than buying a new model.
so i didnt do anything,till saturday when i bought a new slimline one.

i was wondering:is it possible to me to do anything with my old model?eg.modding flashing,etc?

im a newbie at all this stuff........

if the laser is broken u wont be able to do anything with it
modding would lead u to nothing if u dont have a workin laser

all u can do is sell if as faulty on ebay

B:how much would a replacement laser off ebay be?
and C:how muhc would it be to mod/chip or do something with it?

at the mo it all seems like too muhc effort will properly just flog on ebay

complete listings on ebay show faults being sold for 30 dollars. which is a waste.
maybe check boards.ie forsale, id say ud be lucky to get even 40 for it, maybe try exchange it for a modchip for ur slim etc?

nop im not chipping slimline, i dont wanna risk breaking it..........i lost 3 ps1s to chips.............
