Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So far Gonzalez still hasnt realised not to just shoot anytime he gets a visual on the goal. His useual dribbly shot when something good seems to be building.

Still 0-0? Let's hope it stays that way.

Liverpool are on top, a couple of very near misses. Garcia will be on for Pennant if he does'nt smarten up.

He very rarely does so I'd expect Garcia early in the 2nd.

Gonzalez hasn't been exactly promising either

    They can suck eachothers thumbs

Anyway, seems like Bolton have made the better start of this half, still fairly even though

Liverpool on top, Bolton have no chances on goal. All set up for a sucker punch 1-0 Bolton win.

    About bloody time.

Think they should give every ball to him like that,it's the only way he seems able to score.

    YAY STevie G.

Get Robbie on and see can he score.

It's all going to pot for Bolton now .

Think Poll used up all his Yellow cards last year, only had 1 left.:)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Ha! Garcia coming on but Pennant just started crossing well, so Gonzo off.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users Posts: 127 ✭✭bazzman

faye was going to get a yellow for walkin into the ref, then he kicked the ball away out of his hands, luckly to be on the pitch, but the ref would never give a player two yellows a the one time!!

wat a goal by crouch though!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

I seem to remember something lik ethat happening before. A player getting boked acted up and got 2.

Didnt like the look of that 2nd Bolton corner. 3 players around Riise.

    "What do we want?"
    "An end to zonal marking!!!"

    "When do we want it?"
    "Now!!!"

I'm never confident when we give away corners. We always look likely to concede.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Ooooooh! Pennant to Crouch.

    Mike.

Oh heck Liverpools finishing needs sharpening up! ;) Kuyt, Garcia and Hyypia in as many mins.

Yes! Kuyt gets his reward! :)

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

    Pennant.

The phrase "play the whistle" completely passed him by.

    Kuyt. 3-0.

Bolton leaving big gaps at the back in the hope they can make it back up with pace. Not working though.

nice bit of control from garcia and a perfectly weighted pass to led to the goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

A very good performance from liverpool, as always at home some great attacking football and more than likely another clean sheet,

The same old question remains though, why can't they be more like this away from anfield?

Im not a liverpool fan, but at the start of the season i really thought they had a great chance of running chelsea and man utd close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Even setting aside away defeats at Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd. The killer ones are Everton, Bolton and Blackburn. These are the games that need to be turned in to wins. Until that happens it'll be same old same old.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Well the case for the defence is that the away games were all ticky ones -Everton (shocking performance), Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea (outplayed them but could'nt score), Bolton. Since that run ended Liverpool have been solid apart from Blackburn away.

    Mike.

Crouch in open header miss shocker!!!

3-0. Good second half Crouch must learn to head.

    Liverpool - Bolton
    Possession________ 55%---45%
    Shots on target____ 11---0
    Shots off target____ 10---1
    Corners___________ 8---8
    Fouls_____________ 18---12

I think he is so used to heading it down to others, any time he gets a free header like that one he seems to always take the power out of it, or head it straight at the keeper.

he missed 2 or 3 of those at blackburn too didnt he?

very pleasing level of performance in the game from pool, they hounded bolton from the kick off and constantly closed them down. this is the kind of stuff they need to be doing more often, theres no excuse for dropping off from that level of performance in other games.

i like kuyt more every game, his work rate is top notch. if all the players put the same effort in every game there would definitely be alot more points on the board at this stage.

pennant and gonzalez still below par though.
