I am looking at buying a basic laptop that would be mainly used for internet access.
Can anyone advise where is the best place to buy ?

You could get something second-hand, old and cheap, just enough to do the job... but the battery probably wouldn't be up to much (they don't age well)... which wouldn't be a big deal if you're alright with having it plugged in when you use it.
Or going new, I'd probably just pick up something basic from DELL.

I would second Dell, they have some very basic and cheap systems that would be fine for you. Check the Dell Outlet store also.
