    Hi

Was thinking of purchasing the following bike, it got a really good review in Outsider magazine, just said I'd run it by the independent experts first...

    http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=233&idproduct=6534

    What do you guys think?

Also I've looked on this forum for Mountain trails where I can take this bike off road, but all I can find is people cycling the roads up in the moutains, do you know of any good off road tracks, maybe in a forest or something? Preferably Dublin / Wicklow area...

It's as good a full-suspension bike as you'd get for the money. However you'd get a better bike if you put the EUR800 towards a hardtail.

If you're looking for places to ride you should be looking here:

    Hey,

Take a look at the www.mtbireland.com. It has lots of information on off-road biking and a good forum where you can ask questions.

In relation to the bike. I would recommend buying a hardtail if you're just starting out and are just going to be doing cross country biking. You get a much lighter bike and superior parts for you money (since you're not buying a rear shock). The following bikes are good options if you are a beginner:

Lots of good trail around Kilmashogue and Ticknock - enough to keep you busy for hours. If you get more adventerous you can go for Djouce and Ballinstoe woods ...

    Good luck

Thats fantastic advice lads, thanks a million, I am also thinking of cycling to work during the week, I presume one of those hardtail bikes would also be suitable for that too?

Suitable yes but not ideal. Tyres would probably be the main limiting factor but it wouldn't be too bad. How long is your commute? Do you have somewhere secure to keep your bike at both ends?

Yes security isn't a problem, I can bring it into work with me, sit it at my desk I'd say wouldn't be a problem. The commute is a good distance, I'd say around 15 miles...
