    hiya, i recently bought a VW golf, and am wondering how to replace a front headlamp.. i looked in the manual, but it says it should onlt be done by a verified vw dealer, or an expert. is this true?!! is it that complicated?!

    You will find a guide to doing it on these forums. http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/ I took a quick gander before and seem to recall some people saying that taking the bumper off is one of the easiest ways.

    If it's a Mk5 it could be a big job as I think the bumper has to come off. On the Mk4 it's handy enough.

    The title of the thread says "Bulb Replacement" but your post seems to indicate that you wish to change the entire headlamp. Which is it? There is a big difference in the two jobs. As posted above, replacing the headlamp may require removing the bumper. What year is the Golf?
