Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

surpised the police allowed the stoke vs milwall game be played on firday. The off field action will probaly be more entrtaining.

Surprised Millwall are allowed to play anywhere, ever so!

Saints to lose to Torquay. Why? Well you take both sides league position, form and recent history into account, then completely turn it on its head. Simple as that.

Couldnt care less about the FA Cup. Its moving up the Championship table is what bothers me.

Is there not normally a 12pm Saturday game? Or is Cup 3rd round weekend different?

Looking now, Birmingham - Newcastle oculd be the tie of the round. Wouldn't be surprised to see a replay.

Doubt it, 7 of the last 8 games between the sides have produced at least 3 goals. Pigheads predicting a 2-2 thriller.

I fancy the Toon to win it this year.

All i want is a good hard working performance from Leeds for the 90 minutes, it gives Wise a game to try and improve things and find the right team and introduce new players maybe. Wont be upset with loss but win would do wonders for confidence maybe, just look at Macclesfield

The Beeb always try and get a non league team, it helps justifying the licence fee:rolleyes:

Yea they love to talk up the ‘romance of the FA cup, the greatest cup competition in the world,’ b**sh*t. seeing as Tamworth are the only non league club left it was inevitable that it would get the lunch time slot.

I’d say the over\under on the commentator and analysts on the BBC mention the ‘romance of the FA cup’ is about 20, does anyone want to count ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28,128 ✭✭✭✭Mossy Monk

    where is the romance anyway

    "Romance of the cup"
    stupid really

    don't know what you mean.

You'll be tellig me every time england play a world cup match they mention 1966  :D

I think it's romantic though. I went to the Semi final between Wycombe and Liverpool, having watched Wycombe play non league football on a pitch with a 1 in 4 slope on it to 10 years later playing Liverpool at Villa Park, it's quite a story.

Liverpool played them off the park (At least they did once Heskey came on) but Wycombe's goal towards the end was brilliant, the die hard wanderers fans were nearly in tears.

The over\under is a bet used in high scoring sports like basketball.
The booke sets a 'total points scored' and you bet on whether the total will be 'pver' or 'under' this.
In this case if I was a bookie I reckon the BBC will mention 'the romance of teh cup ' around 20 times, so people then bet on where it will be over or under.

    I reckon just under.

Arsenal have too many players out to knock-out Liverpool at Anfield I'm afraid. Unless Henry really plays like he can, I don't see how Liverpool aren't going through this evening.

Pah you've put a hex on the result already.

The game was moved due to League taking prescedence over the FA Cup. Port Vale play Bradford today. Safely through to the next round and awaiting a nice cup draw.

    Bateman

Neither teams wants a draw, they meet again on Tuesday in League cup then again in any replay proberly on Tuesday 16th or Wednesday 17th I think.

I'd settle for that. Fabregas is suspended which is the main reason I'm so pessimistic about this one.

Decent start by Tamworth. Super strike just there. Such a horrible pitch to play on but at least Motson's not commentating. I presume he's being 'saved' for this evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Is Henry fit for today? I think Liverpool are the favorites in this match, but I'm gona go for an Arsenal upset, with a MOM preformances Gilberto and Baptista :P No idea why, just have a feeling Baptista is going to announce himself to the English game tonight.

Norwich forwards make the difference with 2 strikes 40,42 mins.

well with liverpool havin not lost at anfield for quite some time now im going to go with a Home win or draw. Id rather see Arsenal go through as they are more entertaining to watch.

    WBA 1-0 Leeds
    McShane (legend) 6mins

    WBA 2-0 Leeds
    Hartson

I was very apprehensive before the game as were most Norwich supporters I think. We took ages to come out of the blocks but in the end we did a professional job.

newcastle are shocking, cant keep the ball or nothing. full of youngters who just arent good enough, maybe all these injuries might just cost newcastle, but all the same bri are playin quite good today.
    bri 1-0 new

Sheffield United and Charlton look like premiership teams to be going out...Swansea and Notts Forest with a significant upper hand in both games.

Forest wasnt really a shock as they were actually favourites before the match with the bookies. Sheff united is definitly a shock though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,215 ✭✭✭wba88

    N. Forest play very good at home so i wasnt surprised but Sheff to be beaten at home was surprising especially as they beat arsenal the other day
