Has anyone seen anybody try this?
    Is it possible?

What are the optimal conditions, if so?
    Low tide, as normal?

    Any info appreciated.

I assume you're talking about Curragower Falls in Limerick. I've thought about the possibility of a standing wave there, but I've never seen or heard of anyone try it.

Yeah, there is a wave there. If you've been there, you'll notice that there are always people kayak surfing and playing on the wave.

Its probably the best river wave in the country.

One might be better with a bodyboard & fins rather than a surfboard.

one of the lads tried this a while back. i don't think he had too much success.

But i've seen it done before, i reckon it's possible at a good level providing you hit the foam pile and drop in from way upstream to make sure you can get across the flow.

or you could get a paddler to give you a tow
