Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have developed a reasonably bad case of acne on my back and recently chest. I had the same problem with my face but thats been controlled with a face cream i got but it isnt suitable for my chest or back.

Could someboby suggest a solution such as a bodywash or something?

Something with a neutral PH perhaps.

Ask you GP though, I'm sure theres medication that'll clear it up a lot quicker.

I'd advise against taking Roaccutane. I took it, and it cleared up my acne really, really, really well. However, you have to suffer through months of extremely dry eye balls, lips, skin, inside your nostrils etc. while on the drug, and unfortunately the dry eyes and lips have persisted for me 6 months after ending my time on it. I don't think I'd take it again, there has to be a less potentially harmful way.

On a less serious note, while my acne got cleared up, I'm still left with some red marks. These are like a 1 inch radius red kinda taint on my cheek for example. There's no spots there, and the skin is real smooth, so is that a blemish? Can you get rid of those?

If it's really bad, antibiotics from your GP would be the best bet. Acne is caused by bacteria living in your skin, so the only thing that can ever really get rid of it is medication. People have this misconception that it's due to your diet, when in fact it may just be that your personal bacteria are fed by sugar, so sugary foods make you break out. Your bacteria could have any trigger food in the world.

If it's not that bad a case, Clinique do a spray specifically for chest and back acne.

Not a blemish - those are acne scars and are a b*tch to get rid of. Some simple things that might help are Vitamin E oil (buy capsules, break open to release liquid and apply), Bio-Oil, and exfoliation to encourage skin to renew. My derm also suggested laser resurfacing but that's seriously expensive.

No, department stores only. Try BT, Clerys Arnotts or Debenhams in Jervis.

Funnily enough, you can go on Roaccutane to clear acne scars also.

Everyone reacts differently to the drug, I had very very minor side effects and will always refer to it as a miracle drug, some people have bad experiences. Theres no telling but I'd still recommend it any day of the week for anyone who has persistant acne.
