Build up in the Gulf

Anyone following this, there appears tobe a bigger then normal build up of US forces in the Gulf(or on way to), 2 or 3 carrier groups. Normal? or trying to intimidate Iran?

Yeah it's been suggested by the Americans that putting in more troops temporarily to aid withdrawl would be a good idea.
