Another Cubase question - MIDI Machine Control

I've acquired an M-audio Axiom 25 controller, which includes handy transport buttons for playback, recording, looping etc. These work automatically in Ableton Live Lite but I can't seem to get Cubase SX 3 to recognise them. Apparently they use a protocol called MIDI Machine Control (MMC) which I've tried setting up in the Transport > Sync Setup menu dialog but no joy. Maybe one of the Cubase boffins here could help? Cheers.

This might be a silly question, have you pressed the sync button on the transport itself?

Yup, no joy. Cubase is recieving MIDI signals from the buttons alright, I can see the litte indicator flashing, but no reaction from the transport controls.
