Adding Light To Video

I have a video on my PC but it was obviously shot in very bad light you can barely see it, what im wondering is it possible to somehow add some light to the video in quick time so i can see it clearer? I've looked in the help section and cant see anything about this wondering if anyone knows,cheers.

you could turn up the brightness and mess with the contrast, but it'll look pretty bad, if the light wasn't there to begin with it, you can't create it!
