Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hello all!

So Im usually a size 8 on top but in recent purchases from River Island Ive noticed that Ive had to buy a size 10. and no I havent put on weight definitly not in fact.
How do I know? Im still an 8 in Oasis and 6/8 in Topshop. Also older tops I have from River Island sizes 6 and 8 still fit.
So what gives??? have River Island changed their measurements??
Anyone else out there noticed anything like this?

No they haven't changed their sizes but they do vary quite a bit between different styles especially in tops I find. Depending on the style of top I can go between a 10 and a 14. Today I bought a pair of jeans in a size 8 and on Friday a different pair in size 12 and both were a perfect fit. I wouldn't worry about the size number just buy whatever size looks best on you:)

I'm the same in River Island. I go from a 10 to a 12 all the time.
You just have to try everything on to be sure...

I'm a 12 in tops and 12-14 in trousers and river island's clothes are always too tight. Most clothes shops seem to have completely different ideas of sizing.

yea its just annoying because I got a top from River Island for christmas size 8 because my aunt asked what size I was, I thought I was an 8 but it doesnt fit.
But now they dont have any left and they can only give me 20 euro for it because its now on sale :(
Also according to their website I fit the measuments for a size 8. tis all very annoying

If you can get the receipt off your aunt, they have to give you the full price back.

I find RI sizes a bit odd too. None of their clothes are the same sizes!

Well legally they don't have to give you anything back as there isn't anything wrong with the top.

I'm not too fond of River Island sizing either, the trousers are nearly always too short and I'd be a fairly average height.

Cheerio - they have Long sizes in trousers as well, have you not seen them? They have three lengths, short, regular and long. I'd have to get the long leg myself coz I'm tall but they usually have most trousers in the three sizes.

About the top - usually they do refund even if there's nothing wrong with it. I've been at the till paying for my stuff and quite a few times, I've seen people get exchanges just because they didn't want it.

Yeah i never know what size to pick there. I have jeans in a 14 that are really loose and yet i tried on a 16 last week and it was too tight. Eh???
