i have shot there before but i think not 100% sure though that non-members can only shoot rimfire rifles and not the full bore centre fire rifles.

    That needs to be clarified.
I hear that non members can only use club .22 rimfire, non members cannot use the pistol or centrefire range. Don't know about the clay range. Can Civ or Rovi check as they are both members. I think Hilltop allow non members use the pistol, rimfire but no centrefire rifles, and clay range so it might be a better option, unless Courtlough will allow pistol, rimfire and clay.

We at Courtlough would normally love to oblige in a situation like this but we dont have a pistol range. .22 and clays only so no joy from our side.

That is the situation allright- wouldn't really suit so.

Any Hilltop member able to find out if that location would be better?

At Hilltop. You can shoot .22lr bench 50m, .22-.357 indoor gallery, small-bore and fullbore pistol and full clay layout.

Is there any range out there that 'officially' allows non-members fire fullbore rifles?
The two I know pretty well don't/can't (Midland and Hilltop, respectively).

Iv heard of midlands letting groups shoot fullbore for a fee, maybe they would do a deal?

There seems to be a Push on generating interest in Full Bore
    so Teams can compete internationally.

So I dont know why Clubs cant get a dedicated Full Bore rifle specifically
for introducing or giving people a taste of what its like to fire.
    Same goes for Pistol.

Surely your not expected to spend about 1500-3000 for a rifle thats barrell
may burn out after 1000 rounds another wad on a scope, hell for a licence,
getting House alarms put in etc Before!! you get a taste or feel for shooting
at longer distances and with larger more expensive rounds.

I would LOVE to be able to fire full bore but cannot afford it
and I am only starting out so maybe long term in the distant
    future.

Midlands looks as thought its going to have a lovely voice activated
clay shooting set up but again when I asked about it they said that
you need to have your own shot gun to shoot clays there for now.
Same goes for anything ther than .22LR. :-(

Not all clubs have the ranges to fire fullbore stuff on. Plus, training ROs for new disciplines and the wierd mistakes newbies make is not trivial and is vital for safety. Plus, there are a lot of new disciplines being pushed right now - Class F, Target Rifle, Service Rifle, IPSC, at least six ISSF pistol disciplines, and so on. That's not to say it won't happen - ideally, every club should have at least one firearm owned by the club to expose every discipline they shoot to new shooters (and old shooters looking to try something new!). But it will take some time.
