    Just wondering why this thread was locked. There does not seem to be any major trouble from it (apart from one Muppet, who was promptly banned) and does cover a topic that frustrates a lot of people in the Web industry. Is there a reason for the locking and can it be reopened?

    Looking at it, it would appear that a spammer attempted to hijack the thread, his posts have subsequently either been deleted or edited and he's been banned. So there may have been a reason to close it, but that's now well gone (I can't think of any other reason).
