Figured I'd post this here as I almost missed that it was starting myself.

It's beginning on sunday. There's no navigation involved and "Routes try to avoid the wettest areas but rough ground and climbs will be encountered" according to the web-site. I think it's the most beginner friendly of their leagues.

I hope so anyway, I'm thinking of giving it a go :)

I had never even heard of mountain running before but this looks good. A friend and I will be along to give it a go.

Just want to highlight that there is another Irish Mountain Running Association race on this Saturday starting from Ticknock (near Taylors & Lamb Doyles pubs).

It's also a University Champs race with students can enter teams of 3 or 4 ...

    See details: http://www.imra.ie/?sec1=racedetail&id=390

Its pretty good fun - a change from plodding around the streets. I ran in the Hellfire one and in the Howth one. Unfortunately I'll miss the next one but will be along again in a few weeks.

If I'm correct they also organise a 50k ultra, does anyone know when this is planned?
