Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When i have the harddrive as slave i can view files in OS,when i setup as primary i tried installing XP and setup keeps looping.Copies all files, then restarts to do install and back into setup. Suppose to say 'press any key to boot from cd' after files have been copied, then if no key is pressed it setup continues install.Ive formatted drive, done all the normal stuff, just not recognised on bootup.

Tried installing linux application which wipes drive also, installs then restarts and cant find os. Harddrive is from an emachines 190, have they put files onto drive to stop it been used on another PC. Very wierd. any info/help appreciated. May have to use the drive as storage only!

Try the drive in on it's own if you haven't already done so
check that your PC can boot from it - some may only boot from the Drive 0
Use Fdisk (DOS) or linux util (cfdisk ?) to make sure the partition you want to install windows to is marked active

how old is the PC - hard drive mode may matter LBA and all that
if new SATA then do the whole F6 thing for the drivers.

    to try
format a partition as FAT32 use sys in DOS to check its bootable ( Is that on the windows system disk you make when you format a floppy ?)
copy the cd into the i386 folder and run setup from there ( you can convert c: /FS:NTFS later if you don't like FAT32 )
