Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless router

    Hi Guys Im new to the forum and Im hoping someone could give me some advice on wireless. I signed up with magnet and they sent me out 3 modems and I spent countless on hours talking to tech support with no result. I can pick my neighbours signal on my PC and 360 but I cant pick up my own. The modem works perfect wired however it only gives out a wireless signal for 1 minute each day.

    Im just wondering could I hook up a wireless booster or something that would connect to modem and give out a signal. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Not quite sure what your asking there. Magnet sent you 3 modems or network cards?
    I can pick my neighbours signal on my PC and 360 but I cant pick up my own.
    My own what? People don't emit wireless signals at all. it's something only computers with network cards can do.

    What OS did you use?
    Did you run windows wireless setup wizard on both pcs?
    I'm still not sure if you have a modem, router or network card, gimme the name or a link to.
    Do you live anywhere near a fairy ring? Fairys play havok with wireless signals.

    What do you think wireless routers do?:rolleyes: Indeed there have been several threads here in which anguished users wondered about the morality of using those innocent neighbours unprotected wireless networks!

    Its very easy to pick up the signal from a neighbour's wireless router.

    Apart from that could the original poster give more information about what model Magnet are sending him - it is most unusual for three samples to be faulty.

    Im using windows XP

    The three modems they sent me are Telsey modems (I dont know the difference between a wireless router and a wireless modem)

    The tech support went through the wireless windows setup on both PC's to know avail.

    No fairy rings to my knowledge but not sure about pixies.
