Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I was thinking about buying a Smartphone running Windows Mobile 5.0. I was thinking of the mini xda 2 and was wondering if this can sync with outlook?

I was also thinking abot the HTC MTeoR 3G Smartphone http://www.expansys.ie/p.aspx?i=138054

Does anyone know if this is a touchscreen ? Do you have to use the keys to enter data into pocket word like typing a text ?

    Michael

Yes, all Windows Mobile devices use Activesync which can sync with Outlook, plus can also Sync over the air with Exchange 2003 SP2

Does the XDA Mini II have Windows Mobile 5. I've one (couple of years old now) and it has Windows 2003 Second Edition. It's grand but I'd prefer 5 and there's no upgrade (well no official upgrade) that I know of.

I was looking on O2s site for an upgrade to my phone and the Orbit seems to be their current model to replace the Mini II.

As for syncing with Outlook it's great. I use it to synch my Calendar & Contacts between my home and work computers so they're all up to date.
    Other 100% essential apps are
    Avantgo
    The Core Pocket Media Player
    Password Master from Dreameesoft

Nope. I meant it seems like the Orbit is a replacement for the XDA II mini in their product range.

Nope again. It seems that O2 Ireland only stock a limited range of O2 phones. Don't know why. You'd have to get one yourself (abroad or eBay etc.). I don't know what it is with the Irish carriers (O2 / Vodafone / Meteor). The have some good phones but they don't really cater for the upper end of the phone / PDA market. Maybe there's not enough demand for them. I'm in a techie kind of job though and out of 8 people sitting near me, 4 of us have Windows Mobile devices so there is some demand at least.
