LCP- Down : Chap Authentiation failed NO PPP activity light

    Hi . My BTbb stopped working last night. Have had to revert to dial up to post this. I checked my Modem connection status ( Netgear DG834PN) and it
    reads

    Negotiation :LCP down
    Authentiation : Chap authentiation failed

    All lights on front panel solid green EXCEPT for ppp activity light is off.

    Can anyone tell me what these mean ?

    Chap is part of a 3 way handshake if I can remember to authenticate someone onto a network i.e. User Name and Password.
    Make sure the ones you have in your router are correct
    user name = xxx@btbb
    password = <<password>>
