Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DCOM error on Server 2003

I have a Windows 2003 Terminal Server. Since about 12pm, any users logging in get a blank desktop and no taskbar etc.

Full error is: The server {BA126AE5-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout

If the Administrator account logs in, a desktop & taskbar appears after about twenty minutes - applications take upto five minutes to respond though.

I can ping the Server, map drives from it and it passes all tests from dcdiag.exe

Googled the error in the title - tracked the registry key down to 'Network connection Manager class'

Opened 'Component Services' ans searched for the Program but it's not there.

    Has anyone encountered this before?

Know how to fix without an OS resinstall?

    Thanks..

    Has it worked before?
Maybe the bloody thing just needs a reboot.
Not unusual for a machine running Terminal Server.
