Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone tell me are the Vodafone USB datacard/modems unlocked? Can they be unlocked? Can they be purchased on a PAYG basis, but with a bill coming out each month?

In my experience, the USB modem is locked. If not, I would go back in a heartbeat.

As far as I know the software that comes with it locks you to Vodafone. You could of course choose to install different driver software if you so wished, which would solve that.

Do you mean running side-by-side? I tried a Voodoo UK SIM in it and it didn't work. Nor did an SFR SIM.

I mean if I choose to use an O2 SIM in it, or whatever ...

Yes, but as I have just stated I tried a rake of SIMs (Vodafone partner nets) in it and all were rejected. Is UrbanWeigl saying that if I downloaded multiple softwares from Huawei for other nets it would work? No such software exists for O2 IRL or UK.

The E220 USB modem I bought a few weeks ago is definitely locked.
Here's the output of trying to register with a Meteor SIM.
(This is using a terminal, so as to sidestep the Vodafone software.)
    +CME ERROR: SIM PIN required
    at+cpin=****
    OK
    at+cops=?
    +CME ERROR: SIM failure

    Pity,
there's some discussion on a vodafone forum in South Africa about it.
