Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you have a firewall installed on the Windows computer (e.g. Norton Internet Security or something similar)?

If so you may need to open up the ports necessary for port sharing on the XP Computer to share with the Xbox. I can't remember these, but the Help Documentation with Media Player 11 (MP11) lists which ones you'll need.

If you're only using the XP Firewall MP11 automatically updates this when you enable media sharing.

You'll also only need to open them 'locally' so anyone outside your home network won't be able to access your music :-)

remember that you'll only be able to share and play sh|ty windows media encoded music and vids.

    Get tversity instead.

hey scruff, thanks for that... have been looking for something like that for a while, hadn't come across tversity in any of my searches.

So, I have it set up and the xbox connecting too it. But I am having some problems playing movie files. i.e. I am getting the same errors I was getting when trying to play them through the wmp11 connection.

It's a .avi movie, I presume divx format. It plays fine on my PC. But when I try open it via xbox - through tversity - it just tells me that the file is not supported for playback etc.

Any ideas about this? Do I have to set something else up? I know it is supposed to do some transcoding, but not sure if it is even trying etc.

    Any help appreciated.
    james
