Java Hash of File

Does anyone know of an api or implementation that could be used to get a hash of a file? The one in java.io.File only hashes the filename, os that of no use to me. What i need is a hash of the files contents so that i can tell that two files contain different data.

Use the java.security.MessageDigest class to hash the byte contents of the file.
