Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think United will win, whether Liverpool win is done to them. If they have the sense to go at Chelsea in attack then they can beat them, if they try to play defensivly they will get screwed imo.

Arsenal will not lose, im sure of that.
    Chelsea wont lose either...

I think the gap at the end of the weekend will be 3 points.

I'm curious how you come to be so sure? I could possibly understand if they were playing a League 2 team in the cup, but a full strength Man U team??
Don't confuse optimism with arrogance ;)

United and Arsenal will probably draw, if I had to pick a winner id say the team on top of the league would win it...but Im gonna go for a draw.

I think Liverpool could sneak a win in Anfield against Chelsea, unless the pinball expert Frank Lampard scores a few deflected goals

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 35,945 Mod ✭✭✭✭dr.bollocko

Chelsea and United will come through these away "tests" easily enough I reckon.
Of course the other side is that Liverpool are really fired up for it. Chelsea will not find it easy at Anfield with their recent poor form, facing a baying crowd like that will be more of a test for them than Arsenal should be for United. I reckon the better football will be played at Anfield.
I reckon Arsenal could give Utd a hard time but once Utd. score once it will kill off what will probably be a dull game.

Liverpool going with Crouch/Kuyt upfront, Carra/Agger at the back.

    Mike.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Kuyt! Yay!

    Mike.

    Great finish tbh.

Crouch didn't know much about the "beautiful cushioned header" as mr. gray called it, completely mis-hit it I felt, fell into Kuyt's path, nice touch to wrongfoot the defence, and tops it with a beautiful finish past Cech, who looks strikingly like a cartoon Nazi in that headcondom.

    Put your hands up!
    Put your hands up!
Put your hands up For Dirk Kuyt!

doubt alonso will finish the game, the way he keeps bleeding. chelsea not at the races today...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,099 ✭✭✭✭WhiteWashMan

there goes my prediction that chelsea would win today :)

Chelsea have been terrible, Liverpool could take them to the cleaners if they really went for it. As it stands Liverpool are in cruise control and having an easy afternoon's work.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 35,945 Mod ✭✭✭✭dr.bollocko

I'm still ok, saying L'pool would make it a lot tougher for chelsea than Arsenal would make it for Utd. Also think there is some good football in the first half, pool seem rejuvenated.

Should get Bellamy on I think.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,417 ✭✭✭griffdaddy

yeah i agree about Bellamy, the chelsea defense seem to be getting caught out by Kuyts little runs, Bellamy's pace could really unsettle them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,225 ✭✭✭Chardee MacDennis

bellamy for crouch would do a job i reckon...

why can't crouch head? so frustrating...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Crouch! Can't head :(

    Mike.

And Bellamy, unlike Crouch, can finish his dinner. Should've been three - free header four foot out from goal, and he puts it straight at the keeper. Didn't even have to jump.

    Wot a shot by Riise............wow

And again, Crouch can't finish. Should offload to Newcastle, if they'll take him.

Aurelio's having a good enough game.

LOL wot a Nutmeg on Ballack by Drogba.........:D

    Wonder did they practice that.......:p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 35,945 Mod ✭✭✭✭dr.bollocko

    Crouch! What a ****ing joke!
Why didnt they sell him when they had the chance....
Why did they buy him in the 1st place? Missing chances like that... at home... against the likes of chelsea... its unforgivable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,417 ✭✭✭griffdaddy

haha, that replay of crouch's follow up on riise is hilarious, is he even looking where the ball is? on a side note, riise looks like he wants to score a belter

I agree his pace would run the Chelski defense ragged

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Crouch off Bellamy on :)

    Mike.

I was livid when i saw that first, but to be fair he was completely taken out of it by Essien as he jumped to head. Was obvious Essien played the man so was actually a potential shout for a pen.
