Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't know if it is that well known how much of a rip off O2 upgrades are
I did a quick comparison on a few Nokia phones between O2 and Vodafone

    Nokia___Vodafone____O2
    1600____Free________€29
    5140I___€9__________€49
    6070____Free________€29
    6230I___€19_________€99
    7360____Free________€49
    9300I___€309________€449
    N70_____€119________€169

So that is a difference of price between €30 and €140 on some phones:eek:
    WTF?????
Wish i could change over to Vodafone in the near future however i am stuck in another 12 month contract since I got a sim replacement recently
Just thought I'd vent some and hopefully warn people of some of the O2 pitfalls

P.S. another O2 rip-off, I get 120 free minuted per month with my current price plan.
However if I am in the north I get charged.
My free minutes don't roam with me... so much for all Ireland calling

That is for bill pay phones
    I assume pre-paid are worse

You had to sign a new 12 month contract for a sim replacement!? I think you may have gotten wires crossed there.

Why be selective about with ones you compare?

What about phones like the k800?

    Just done a comparision and the Motorola K1 starts at €239 on Vodafone Bill pay, it's €79 - €179 with O2. V3 pink starts at €19 with Voda, it's €free - €29 with O2.

    The 6230 on O2 is 19 -€119 not a flat fee of €99.

The prices on Vodafone clearly say FROM €xxxxx. It's dependent on Price plan, just like o2.

I'm a vodafone pay monthly customer btw.

No charge in the north or in the UK. Dont know if you can use your inclusive minutes though

Silver €29 to whatever depending on the phone 18mths no spend required
Gold €29 to whatever depending on the phone €900 spend required
platinum most regular phones €29 €1500 spend required
Diamond 99% handset are free €2500 spend required

You don't go into contract with a SIM change, which are free for Bill customers.
O2 don't cut you off without some contact letter/call and don't charge reconnection fee if you forget to pay the bill.

Phone customer care and ask them to open up your account for UK roaming, Stay on the O2 UK network and your inclusive minutes work. not txt through you pay international rate

What upgrade with O2 are you comparing against what upgrade with Vodafone?

If you're on O2 Active Life plan you can use your minutes in NI/UK if you ring O2 care and get them to put it on your account.

    SIM changes are free.

    No, heres the fun part

Compare O2UK prices with O2 Ireland for their tariffs. I'd be glad I don't live in the UK!

You are not put in contract for a SIM replacement. Don't know where you got this.

Yes, that would be why he compared o2 and Vodafone prices.
