Battlefield 2 Tank question

Playing a BF2 lately online. Sometimes when I try to take out a tank with a rocket launcher with two shots other times it has three or four.

Do vehicles have weaker points? If so, where are they?

Id love to know this too actually! In the intro video your man shoots the top of the the tank with a rocket launcher kills him one go?

I have hit a tank right on the top from an elevated position. Still needed an extra shot.

ARMOR WEAK POINTS
Here's where knowing a tank can come in handy. There are a few critical points to known either trying to kill a tank, or shooting one. First things first, if you're Anti-Tank aim for the crack, just below the turret (where the turrent turns) by the cannon in the front. If you hit that spot you're 50% more likely to get a one hit tank kill. American tanks and apcs are all MOST vulnerable from behind. Shooting a tank in the rear while it's distracted will take more damage than if you hit it from the side. Hitting a tank from the side, you might as well be shooting blanks, but even though it might not do much, shoot it anyway if you have the shot. Getting shots off before you get killed isn't very likely if you're in short range. It's also good to know that a TOW missile is usually always a one hit kill. Depending on where you hit the tank, it can take up to two shots, but a TOW missile can take out APCS with one hit every single time. When you're shooting apcs in a tank it's a good idea to aim just below the turrent, and before the wheels, if you don't have that choice fire at the rear of the apc. Tanks can usually take care of them pretty easily, but if you're just standing still and shooting you can be a sitting duck.

Have'nt touched BF2 in a bit, but hitting the threads will only take 2 shots. the under the gun thing, very hard to pull, the cannon has to be raised otherwise its next to impossible to pull off. Pick up 2142 instead, all tanks are a 1 shot kill from behind, much easier.

Played 2142 a few times. Didn't really do much for me. Went back to BF2.

Tanks usually at the back. APC's from front and back. Jeeps can be taken out with one shot from any angle.

Best BF2 tip ever regarding tanks :

JOIN INF ONLY SERVERS. The games are better, people tend to play as teams, and you wont get tk'd for silly vehicles.

These are hard to hit, more important is to stay out of the way, i.e. behind it

They have good videos on SoB, the one shot tank to tank kill is very good, never done it though
