As a result of the winter weather a boundary fence has been battered and will need to be replaced. The fence was on an exposed boundary with a neighbour who own the land next to us. We have provisionally agreed to build a wall instead. In the meantime we have no fence so I was wondering what might be the best "temporary" fence while we find someone to build the wall?

Does the fence need to keep out/in any animals? If not then just get a few stakes and nail a top and bottom line of wire along the fence. Cheap and easy to do.
Is the line of fencing needed very long?

Not really an animal problem but there is a privacy issue as the boundary is exposed. The length is short - about 8 metres or so.

If you think the time could stretch a bit before you build the wall, put up a wooden fence. The sheets can be purchased from your local hardware store or timber yard. Eight meters isn't much. Get someone to give you a hand, won't be long until your privacy is back.
If you think the wall will be started in the next month or two, then there is no need to go to the expense of the timber fence. Just use wire and stakes.
